A year down the track, with this ICT contract, I would dearly love to be using a lot more technology in general. Unfortunately for this to happen I can see the need for a lot of money to be spent by the school, to get us up to speed. I like the idea of using podcasts with my Year 7's and also using a blog for their journal writing.

Hi Jude - lack of infrastructure is a pain isn't it. You could still set up a blog at home, though and get kids working on that. Post on here again and let us know how your plans are going.
